Repeating here

Why does GW refuse to use 'Imperial Guard' in any current reference to them, the trademark-able 'Astra Militarum' can still be used in the marketing and on the codex. Just say "the Astra Militarum is comprised of the Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy, the term Astra Militarum, literally meaning space military, is used to distinguish formations that can be moved around the Imperium from local PDF Army and Navy elements".
Problem solved, the guard would still be the guard and GW get's their precious copyright.

More chances to hit per attack. For example you cannot divide individual feet hit rolls between different units. Any given set of three rolls from a particular "attack" must all go into the same eligible target unit.

Basically feet are explicitly modifying the sentence in the core rules that says:
>You make one hit roll for each attack being made (see Making Attacks).

as a DE player this cover fits our aesthetic way better. Guard still alive to be taken prisoner, creepy mandrakes crawling over prey, raiders coming out of portal shows speed and verocity of suprise attack boosted by the fact that there's already casualties inflicted. Looking at my random collection of Daemon models, I have

Karanak
Infernal Enchantress
Poxbringer

20 Bloodletters
10 Daemonettes
10 Plaguebearers
3 Nurglings

3 Blood Crushers
3 Fiends

5 Flesh Hounds
5 Seekers
3 Plague Drones

What else should I add to that to make it a proper Daemons army?

How many points do you want to build towards and do you have a preferred god considering you have a bit of everything except Tzeentch? I would grab another Nurgle SC! and use the nurglings from the plaguebearers and some of the rows from the nurglings to turn the 6 to 9, nurglings are some of the best objective holders in the game. Plaguebearers are still a decent tarpit. You are going to need some greater deamons if you want to play above 1k points, bloodthirsters still kind of suck, LoC is great, KoS is also really good since it can sprint up most of the board in a turn then charge if it's an all Slaanesh detachment.

I probably will use them as breachers if I ever do take them to battle, but I'm at the point where I'm painting models from years ago. I made this team back when I made a gamble that one day pulse carbines would be worth taking and since I already had 48 other firewarriors with pulse rifles. Its good to finish them though.

I might move onto some old crisis suits, or some pathfinders.

Some stuff you need to know is that daemons are probably one of the highest skill-based armies and that this is the first time since their inception as a standalone army in 40k that they are actually good. Right now there are 2-3 daemon lists if you want to use those for a base to build towards, I think the all Slaanesh one is a lot harder to play than the Slaanesh + a detachment of nurglings and an exalted LoC. That being said all of this will change as soon as Daemons get a 9th ed codex so pace yourself. Especially because it's a horde army with 4 distinct factions that' don't really blend as well as anyone would like but aren't that great on their own either

It's all very easy to build, you can easily look up what the minis look like online, deffcoptas are super easy to build as is everything else in the box. Bad news is that if you don't want the marines, you are going to have some issues reselling them since primaris are the new hotness.

You don't? Summoning is pretty atrocious. The venomcrawler is okay, but not good. The MoP is best off casting buffs for oblits and possessed. For your Battlewagon(s) I'd suggest either swapping to a Bonebreaka or a Gunwagon with the Da Boomer/Forktress. You don't really have anything to hang out in the BW and shoot, so the open topped is wasted. Three painboys is overkill. One or two. I imagine the Mek is for hanging out in the Naut. But basic Meks are pretty meh. Generally get a Mek with KFF or don't bother. Grots are pretty bad, and given it's your 4th troops consider spending those points elsewhere like Kommandos or something. If you want a cheap backline thing consider a Smasha Gun, or even just 10 Boyz. Give your Nobs Klaws.

I'm honestly not sure. Warpsmith is both a key word and unit title, there's a decent chance it means the unit, warpsmith of <legion> rather than keyword warpsmith, so a lot of people might argue with you on that unless they play CSM. The fact that I have to juggle both a rules pamphlet and a splat book makes it bad enough. But on that same note, a MoP has to sprint every turn to keep up, so I don't really see that working for more than a turn or two anyways.

No, But considering nothing is worth it in the tau codex anyways, might as well go ham.

but stealth suits currently have had a little revival in 9th, mainly as a way to infiltrate up the board and then act as a sacrificial lamb to move block the opponent. so that the tau can claim objectives first.

Its not a good strategy since it requires spending like 300 points+ just to delay your opponent a turn.

Silver/Metallic?

You realise that lasguns in artwork are almost 99% Green or whatever colour the regiment uses (unless its wood) except like the barrel and power pack.
> The only exception seems to be autoguns wielded by cultists (so produced informally and lacking standardization) or where it is a stylistic choice by the artist.

If you want an infantry army you'll want more like 100 infantry plus some shock troops like Bullgryn.

If you want Mechanised you can reduce the number of squads a little and bring a Chimera for each squad supported by Sentinels and Tanks.

If you want Armoured bring minimal infantry (30) and spam tanks (Around 5-6)

>There were two twin sisters born, one a blank, one a pwerful psycker.
> Both became inquisitors. they really only had a mutual professional bond nothing more. ususally dont work together.
>one particularly grusume event, the sisters actually did work together, a powerful demonic aperition. It was terrorizing a planet. It would keep away from the blanks potent anti-warp signiture.
>It actually attacked and mortally wonded the psycker sister.
>Medical techpriest staaff try to keep her alive. failing. Instead psycker casts a spell to embed her power and signuture into her body.
>other sister skins pycker sisters body and wheres as a cloak.
>THe blank signature and the psyker signature of the skin cloak cancel each other out, blanks reading is pretty much that of a regular human, maybe a little more psyckicly active.
>Hunts down the apperition who now cannot sense the blank. Blank takes off cloak and ghostbusts aperition.
>Now blank goes around the Imperium blasting fouls using the dead flayed pycker sister ans a psychic disguise.

Easy for you to say
>°I'd be one of the good ones!"
When you have the narrative knowledge of what Warp and psykers are like. In-universe, you'd be an ignorant little nitwit whose mind is filled by morbid visions and knowledge you had never even thought of. If you ever spoke up about it, you'd get beaten half-dead by your father's belt for being a deranged weakling. If you ever manifested any powers, you'd either be hung from a noose, set on fire and lashed a hundred times (order nonspecific) or abducted into a Black Ship and hauled-off to be psychic chow for a pseudo-dead goop on a shiny, golden chair-shaped machine. Typing this so I can look at it
Battleforce:
Chaos Lord
10 CSM
5 Termi
5 Havoc
Fiend

Start collecting
Daemon Psyker
2 Greater Possesed
2 Oblits
10 CSM
Garbage Spider

That would be enough for 2HQ, 3 squads with same loadout, not sure if you can get 4. Termis good, Havocs good, Oblits good. Greater Possessed and Daemon engines are okay together, but codex will show whether those are great or bad.

Battleforce is better to start off with, since it is limited time. But yes, both would be a good core to an army.

Keep in mind the CSM SC box CSMs are monopose and loadout, you can work around it with the extra parts from the full CSM sprues in the battleforce to an extent.
>Greater Possessed
If nothing else GPs are great for filling in the last points of your list with a solid beatstick for cheap, mine have done good work with their buffing potential being more of a side benefit.

CSM sprue is 7 melee max, 7 bolter max and not sure on heavy weapons

You can get 2 5man squads of either of all the same loadout, maybe get 3 if you do special weapons on the champion.

In a lot of 40k art you see many skulls all over the ground, but why? Were the bodies left there for the flesh to rot off for months? If they are recent then their flesh must have been burned off, perhaps by incendiary bombs, but the bone doesn't look burnt? And where are the rest of their bodies? You never see a pile of femur bones.
Is someone in this battle field going out of their way to pile up these skulls?

Same reason literally every piece of artwork has the two sides fighting up against each other's faces: it looks cool.
Literally 100% of X vs Tau art is unrealistic because Tau would be ten kilometers away from their enemies at any given time, and for some reason all art assumes they're being overrun in melee or something to that effect.
