What would "an echo" of elven village on Material plane look like in Feywild?

My PCs are to switch to Feywild near an elven forest village...

>> No.76225345
Quoted By: >>76225623

Kind of depends if the elves in the village are eladrin since, most of the elves ucked off to the prime material plane. If its an eladrin village it'd probably be bigger, if its a regular elf village it'll probably be wilderness.

OP here.

Cool idea. Would "echo" of elven village change the plants somehow?

>> No.76226188

Treat it like a dimensional version of the outskirts of a city, where the real city is in the Feywild and populated by aristocratic-looking Eladrin and attended to by elemental spirits and enthusiastic Fey, and the Elven village (which is every big as splendid as an Elven village should be) is like the ghetto district that the Fey Elves would hate to be forced to go to because they don't feel safe there.

I enjoy that in the setting that art is from, the suits actually modify the wearer too.
For example, a suit that derives nutrients from meat actually starts modifying its wearer to be able to consume and digest large amounts of raw flesh, so that while in suit the suit can 'eat' animals, but even out of it the wearer will show more carnivorous traits.
Likewise a suit that is photosynthetic, while often weaker than other types of suits, will cause the wearer to feel more energized in the sunlight even when out of the suit, drink more water, and generally feel a massive sugar crash as soon as they're away from the sun for too long.

This is a thread all about how my life got flipped turned into eternal magical servitude to a dark and capricious entity.

Warlocks are the most interesting, enjoyable, and sexiest casting class in any rpg. Why is that? What's your favorite warlock to play in any system? Do you think WoW has pigeonholed them as demon summoners? Do you prefer fiendish warlocks or lovecraft warlocks?

Let's fucking have a warlock thread.

I like Wizard from Dungeon Crawl Classics. Way more patron options than in 5e and your specific patron matters as they give you unique spells and other features.
>Do you think WoW has pigeonholed them as demon summoners?
People think of the devil and demons yeah. I don't really see the issue though.

Sing all ye joyful, now sing all together!
The wind’s in the tree-top, the wind's in the heather;
The stars are in blossom, the moon is in flower,
And bright are the windows of Night in her tower.

Dance all ye joyful, now dance all together!
Soft is the grass, and let foot be like feather!
The river is silver, the shadows are fleeting;
Merry is May-time, and merry our meeting.

Sing we now softly, and dreams let us weave him!
Wind him in slumber and there let us leave him!
The wanderer sleepeth. Now soft be his pillow!
Lullaby! Lullaby! Alder and Willow!
Sigh no more Pine, till the wind of the morn!
Fall Moon! Dark be the land!
Hush! Hush! Oak, Ash, and Thorn!
Hushed be all water, till dawn is at hand!

About a 60/40 mix of black and brown matte craft paint. Then I added fine sand to desired roughness of the mix and finally I added PVA glue to the desired consistancy. I have made several batches and the more pva, the smoother it flows but you wont get that much variance to the texture surfaces. These bases were made with a first even coverage of a mix with a lot of pva and a moderate amount of sand and after let dry I applied a coarser mix with more sand and less pva to add rougher texture over the the smoother surface at some areas. Then I drybrushed the base in tyrant skull followed by a wash of agarax earthshade.

I mean my deck can win pretty quick, but not against multiple people convinced I'm the threat and holding up any and all resources in the first few turns to stop me from my early win. I win if they don't draw counterplay. I can combo off turn 3, turn 4 more frequently, turn 5 consistently. But they play with that in mind specifically. That is the problem. They know what the combo stuff is and they gang up. Then you watch a turn after, one of them combos off and they all pat eachother on the back. Maybe its best to let this group die. It's just a shame that we are friends outside of it and the toxicity has killed not just the playgroup but the friend group too

>night lands book

>I like the idea though, dark worlds are really neat.
thanks, I got some more stuff I thought about.

In the beginning there was darkness and chaos inside a great abyss and god, or gods, it is not clear by the holy texts but today only one being answers the prayers. The creator(s) made at first a small earth, and inside it trapped the chaos of before creation. The first world was that of unperfect creation, the land and beings of that world were nothing like those who came after.
Some unknown crisis caused the first world to be sealed, but now it is a barren wasteland. No natural light can be found and most of the surface is covered with a thin layer of water (30cm - 1.5m). It is a home to strange landscape, demons, blind beasts and mages. the mages are few but powerful down there, with many cracks to the abyss showing, the years the mages can accesses the chaos of the primordial world and mold it into strange new things.

There are seven gates out of the first world, each protected by an angel, like Lish-Ari the 50m long lion with the seven heads and 4 wings. It is considered impossible to pass them but even so, many have succeeded and some even do so more then a few times, their methods, however remain unknown

sounds really cool

Modern civilization. The end has come today, or maybe in a couple of generations, it doesn't matter. The place of action is the USA or that part of Europe where I and my players live. About a thousand years had passed at the start of the adventure.
>Why they Fell
Now it is rather difficult to determine, but it seems that a series of events led to a global crisis in all spheres of life, which lasted for decades or centuries. Certainly there have been several small local nuclear wars, epidemics, mass death and loss of culture and science.
>What Remains
Big cities are practically uninhabited, people live in the new Middle Ages. Technology is perceived as something esoteric.

In most RPGs, but particularly for our purposes D&D (most editions published since the 70s anyway), males and females of a given race usually have identical stats. A woman can start out just as strong, coordinated, tough, smart, perceptive, and charismatic as a man and can reach the exact same heights.

What are the social implications of this? If in a fantasy world, right from the start, women and men were in fact equal in ability? For the sake of argument let's say that at the very least races did start as technologically primitive cave-people and have an advancing society, they weren't just created and locked into Medieval stasis.

Not intentionally a bait thread, but we'll see how things go. Also I guess this can be a female adventurer art thread.

Malcolm calls out the Romulan mines as tricobalt and that they're sort of similar to a particular kind of spatial torpedo, though that's specifically in the context of disarming and seems to be more about how the warhead tech's laid out than the explosive itself. The photonic torpedoes they end up upgrading their own weapons to are explicitly antimatter and there's no indication of any tricobalt device similarity there.

The constitution class was explicitly starfleet premiere 'heavy cruiser'. Just like the excelsior class was their premiere 'battleship' in answer to the growing threat of the klingons.

STO classes it as a heavy cruiser, but I'm not sure where in the actual canon it does.

Better, it gives you the ability to just straight up nick the monsters. Entering a battle with a metal cactuar will never not be fun to me. Their unique abilities are made into overdrives, and while the pure damage ones are questionable, the healing and status ones are fantastic.

Huh, neat. I might get back into the series.

Octopath could do that because it's classic pixel art with turn based combat, but anything Square Enix puts out directly is always going to focus on cutting edge graphics. All those controllable characters acting in real time, with that many particle effects is going to melt consoles, and most PCs too.

Also, does anyone actually play ffd20? I never see anyone talking about it, at all.

>> No.76241549
Quoted By: >>76243926

Ffd20 does what it does okay. The devs try to update it frequently and do sort of listen to balance critiques. Its hard to actually die unless the dm throws nukes at you and some class archetypes are just built retarded and nonsensical but, slowly some have gotten fixed in the recent updates.

Is there any more based story than the PCs being the ones at fault for resurrecting the ancient evil and having to clean up their own mess?

I would try this, but honestly >>76224542 this.

Running a sci fi campaign, and the party is so damn suspicious of me, they were tempted to chuck the person they were paid to rescue out the airlock for a good 30 minutes while they did nothing but eat cookies. They were completely correct in this suspicion of course, but still, it hurts.

And that's just with one innocent child. If I hand the party anything, you can be damn sure the two techies are going to take it apart in anyway they can.

Hey, I was in that campaign! We learned that the first thing the Ancient Evil Daddy would do is ignore all of his children who summoned him and go fuck his wife. So, while the 8th Primal Sin, Void, was summoning his Ancient Evil Daddy, we met with his wife and convinced her to get on our side, and when AED shows up to knock boots, his wife says, "Not until you put away your toys (The 8 Primal Sins)." He says fine, and helps us destroy his children, a bunch of their demonic army, and a few NPCs who had betrayed us along the way. After that's all done, AED looks around, says, "Huh, no one is nagging me for once," then shags his wife for 1000 years.
That was a good campaign.

I've been trying to get a regular group going for wargames, board games and even RPGs. The more I think about it, the more depressing it just seems. It's always something like this.

>People come to me saying how they want to play more board games.
>Pick something then set a date to play.
>They cancel last minute because conveniently something always comes up.

It doesn't matter the type of game. I get more excuses as to why someone can't play something. It just seems like people only like the idea of playing a game and social media/ smart phones made people lazy. Local shops in my area are just as bad.
I'm at the point where if I notice a pattern with people im ready to call them out and just be blunt. I'm sorry /tg/. I just needed to vent and hopefully feel like im not entirely alone with this.

Meh, growing up an only child and having few friends I learned to enjoy my time alone. If my friends don't want to hang or cancel because they are busy or tired I always think what poor workaholic saps they are. Most people live, work, die, and regret working so much on their deathbeds.

So this type thing depends on the people you're talking with. Its autism i know, but you will have to get a feel for who you're dealing with. A lot of people love to pretend to make plans about things they want to do, but never have intentions of doing it. Its important to know when youre playing the fantasy game vs actually planning a game.

If youre autistic and can't feel it out, a good way to test if youre playing the game is to introduce something clearly ridiculous into the mix and see if they keep playing along. For example, introduce the idea of it being a sleep over with lots of beer and sluts. If they play along with it and youre planning a giant dnd night with slits and fountains of foamy beer coming out of dorito waterfalls, you know its just a fantasy.

This is a tactic I've learned to use when trying to sleep with females. So it does have multiple uses.

I've found that it's better to assume people are going to flake out these days. Hell, it's not even that they have something better to do. More often than not they just want to stay home and do something comfortable. Even myself, I enjoy gaming but I'll drag my feet because I hate getting cleaned up and commuting for an hour to the game store, contemplating if I should just veg out at home, wank, play steam games, watch microsoft sam read out memes on youtube, and browse /tg/. I can only imagine people are doing something similar.

The best sign for me that a game is still 'on' is if the people you invite make an effort to reach out to you without being reminded. In which case they're most likely to at least show up for session 1. I also avoid pushing for session 2 until someone else brings it up. The main thing is that as soon as people start acting like they're doing you a favor by showing up, pull the plug. If it's not fun for them, they're sure as fuck not going to make it fun for you.

I once had this guy contact me about playing at the LGS, but after claiming his wife makes him take care of the kids/work/do chores every hour of the weekend and after work, after much arm twisting he came out and said he's only available two hours a week on tuesdays between noon and 2pm. Like people have said here, if they are actually interested barring getting fired from their jobs they will try to comprise and make it work. Once he said his availabilities I knew he was blowing smoke and nothing more.

>> No.76257380

It's because, in this day and age, people don't want to wait to do something. Usually they talk about it and say how they really wanna play board games, but then when they realize they have to plan ahead and they can't play RIGHT NOW, they get bored and end up cancelling.
